    We are seeking a CAD ENGINEER to join our Whitehall, MI team to support design activities within the Advanced Manufacturing and Automation division at Howmet Aerospace. This position will be responsible for the design of New Product Introduction (NPI) tooling, manufacturing support tooling and robotic/automation tooling.

    Responsibilities:

    • Advanced modeling in Siemens NX12 with proficiency in modeling, assemblies and drafting.
    • Modify and/or recreate models from un-parametric solids and surfaces.
    • Prepare and maintain detailed design drawings using GD&T specifications and standards.
    • Import and export data from various CAD formats.
    • Maintain and revise existing CAD drawings & models.
    • Provides technical support to engineers, and other departments to support tooling development and process improvements.
    • Ability to create and edit CAD models for rapid prototyping.
    • Manage project timeline from design through tool delivery.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others.
    • Self-motivated.
  • Qualifications

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum 3 years design experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Basic computer skills; Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint.
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. "Green Card holder"), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Advanced modeling in Siemens NX, Solid Works or similar CAD/3D modeling softward and ability to utilize expressions, macros and grips.
    • Knowledge of investment casting manufacturing process.
    • CAM programming for CNC and Wire EDM manufacturing.
    • Experience in designing tooling to support robotic automation in a manufacturing environment.
    • Highly detailed and organized.
