    SUMMARY

    The Configuration Management Intern will work as a member of AeroVironment’s Engineering Services Configuration and Data Management (CDM) team and perform duties appropriate to one's area of study and experience. CDM exercises AV standard processes and tools to establish and maintain consistency of AV’s product configuration information. This team works directly with Engineering to implement releases and changes to our products.

    To qualify for a CDM Internship, one must be a Sophomore or Junior in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related discipline, and possess a desire for continuous improvement, creative solutions, and working with people in a team environment.

    You will have real responsibilities and opportunities to use CDM processes and enterprise data management applications to assist in managing our product’s configurations, including Bills of Material, Drawings, and Build Procedures. You will work closely with your team and customers to balance work and execute efficiently, and you’ll get a firsthand view of AV’s product development and engineering process. And all this surrounded by the most interesting products in the aerospace industry.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Move the needle. Use your hands-on knowledge and skills t o contribute to your team and to AV’s engineering process.

    • Improve yourself. Receive one on one training with other members of our team in real world situations and get exposure to the development of industry leading products.

    • Help others. Partner with our internal customers (Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Drafting, etc.) to enable them to execute changes to our products.

    • Work directly with tools such as Oracle PLM.

    • Other duties as assigned

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE)

    • Currently enrolled Sophomore or Junior pursuing a degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, or a related degree

    • Has effective problem-solving, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills

    OTHER QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRED COMPETENCIES

    • Office 365 application experience

    • Familiar with the discipline of Configuration Management and/or Technical Data Management

    • Experience reading engineering drawings.

    • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties

    • Focuses on teamwork and collaboration , and puts the success of the team above one's own interests

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Ability to work in an office and at home (Constant)

    • Required to sit and stand for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Constant)

    The salary range for this role is:

    $20 - $31
