    EHS MANAGER POSITION DESCRIPTION

    • Monitors and complies with the Legal requirements in Environment, Health and Safety of all the Processes and Services Activities of the plant, Federal, State and Local order, as well as of the business unit. Plans, develops, implements & verify compliance with the EHS programs, policies and procedures required. This position will:
    • Assist, coach and counsel location and line leadership in execution of the EHS strategy.
    • In conjunction with the plant manager, ensure a highly functioning fatality prevention team is in place.
    • Drive environmental compliance activities, systems and sustainability activities.
    • Implement the BU health and wellness strategy.
    • Represent the BU to key internal and external regional stakeholders on EHS related matters.
    • Lead, mentor, and support location's professional EHS staff. • Travel requirements up to 25% to 50% from Del Rio Location.
  • Qualifications

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution. • 5 years experience in EHS Management or closely related experience. • Due to ITAR restrictions, applicants must be US citizens or have permanent resident status. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Bilingual Ensligh-Spanish. • 3 year minimum of Managerial experience is required. • The position will need to operate 90% of the schedule in Acuna Mexico Operations & 10% in the smaller Del Rio plant. • Strong OSHA US knowledge and interpretation. • EHS Mexico laws & regulations dominance a big plus. • EHS Technical/Engineer/Professional, ISO/AS9100, NADCAP certifications beneficial. • Demonstrated success in directly leading IH, Health or an EHS function in a large manufacturing environment. • Demonstrated ability to lead and influence others to drive results. • Demonstrated passion for change and relentless focus on execution. • Ability to make complex decisions with sometimes an incomplete set of data. • Ability to interact with all levels of the region, BU, Howmet Corporate staff and governmental representatives. • Knowledge of applicable regulatory and Howmet EHS related regulations and procedures. • Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving and human relations skills. • Critical skills include: Execution, attention to detail, initiative, conflict resolution, customer focus, collaboration, building ownership and commitment, developing others, establishing and direction, drive for change, tenacity, getting organization support and tenacity. • Ability to effectively present information and respond questions from group of managers, clients, customers. • Good PC skills, High proficiency in Microsoft package for better work presentations • Good written & verbal communications skills • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. • Demonstrates a good attitude and initiative to develop the position activities. • Selected candidate will need to live & reisde in Del Rio Texas area.
