  • Responsibilities

    Summary:

    The Electrical Engineer I designs, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications. In this role, one selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability as well as determines design approaches & parameters. Work with international team in Germany to discuss technical issues and possible solutions to items found in the field. Conducts general engineering and design of electronic systems on unmanned ground vehicles with cross-functional teams.

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Trouble-shoots systems from a hardware and software perspective
    • Interface with customers to remedy technical issues in the field
    • Writes software to support the integration of sensors and embedded processors
    • Quickly designs, builds, and tests prototypes. Works with sensors, embedded systems, and RF links
    • Performs electronic engineering support activities on R&D projects
    • Works on problems of a limited scope. Builds stable working relationships internally. Articulates issues and need for guidance, as applicable.
    • Utilize Linux command line to debug and diagnose issues on the UGV
    • Analyze signals to determine faults
    • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):

    • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
    • 0 – 2 years of professional experience required or equivalent combination of experience & education
    • Experienced in one or more areas: Radio Frequency (RF), embedded control, flashing software
    • Experienced with power electronics, including motors and lithium batteries
    • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex systems
    • Demonstrated familiarity with common industry protocols (LVDS, I2C, HDMI, UART, SPI, CAN, USB)
    • Knowledge of general Engineering fundamentals, mathematics, physics & material properties
    • Familiarity with UGV subsystems and associated software
    • Use of circuit diagrams for diagnostic repairs

    • Demonstrated ability of hands-on experience with tools is preferred

    • Familiarity with office software, computer-based productivity tools and other software tools in one’s area of expertise
    • Demonstrated ability to learn professional concepts and appropriately applies concepts & procedures to resolve routine issues within the technical discipline
    • Consistently works within specific requirements and complete tasks under general supervision. Shares ideas and experiences with others, solicits feedback and asks relevant questions
    • Able to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, where small teams share a broad variety of duties
    • Displays strong initiative and drive to accomplish goals and meet company objectives

    • Ability to work in an office and manufacturing environment (Constant)

    $61,440 - $92,160
