    Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for an ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY (EHS) ENGINEER at our Dover, NJ location. Our passionate commitment to EHS provides the successful candidate with an excellent environment in which to work and the leadership commitment and support to deliver results. This position is a key member of the location's EHS team and is highly visible position in the plant and Business Unit. The position provides an excellent platform for potential future growth to the successful candidate.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS POSITION INCLUDE:

    • Assist with location fatality prevention efforts including helping to lead deployment and execution of key fatality prevention elements and coaching location leaders.
    • Analyze injury and incident data and assist line management in the implementation of focused injury reduction efforts. Provide expertise to roactively address injury reduction efforts.
    • Assist with the facility's industrial hygiene program including execution of IH sampling plans, the administration of IH databases and employee exposure records, hazardous material management, ergonomics oversight and serve as the radiation protection technical resource.
    • Provide technical expertise and participate in injury/incident investigations to assist in identifying root cause analysis and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
    • Coach and counsel departmental leaders in the execution of their EHS accountabilities.
    • Partner with location leadership to deliver EHS objectives.
    • Lead and assist with other EHS accountabilities.
  • Qualifications

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a related field from an accredited institution
    • Minimum 1 year of experience in the field of health and safety
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment. eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position;
    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • 3 or more years of experience in the field of health and safety
    • Experience in Environmental is a plus
