    Howmet has an immediate opening for a Facilities Project Engineer in our Rancho Cucamonga Operations. Our passionate commitment to the facility provides the successful candidate with an excellent environment in which to work and the leadership commitment and support to deliver results. This position is a key member of the Facilities team, is a highly visible position that will require traveling to different sites within California and other states as needed.

    Howmet Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, forged rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.

    SUMMARY: The Facilities Project Engineer is responsible for operational improvements, as well as special projects to improve capacity.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities.     • Drive investments on new initiatives and other changes necessary to improve production efficiency, quality and operational safety.
    • Improve process downtime and operational capabilities of critical equipment through focused projects, redesign and possible retrofit activities
    • Participate in engineering design reviews; evaluate and approve drawings, routings, specifications and other documents.
    • Lead research, collect information, obtain quotes from vendors and check availability of equipment.
    • Write capital expenditure requests and present projects to senior leadership
    • Follow and report the status of a project. Schedule any suggested revisions for review.
    • Lead project review meetings during the course of a project.
    • Establish and execute project task lists to keep projects moving forward according each project's plan.
    • Conduct Risk Assessments to identify and deal with any risks that may exist with the project.
    • Responsible for performing engineering and technical duties during the development of components throughout launches and production according to control plans. Performs problem solving techniques, process improvements, and maintain the quality standards of products.
  • Qualifications

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • Bachelor's Degree in engineering.
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
    • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
    • This position is subject to the Internal Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of AutoCAD; Excel spreadsheets software and Word Processing software. Familiarity with motor control, AC frequency drives and PLC's.
    • Ability to read and interpret facility and machine diagrams, blueprints, schematics, etc.
