Howmet Engines is seeking an IT intern to support our Environmental, Health and Safety team. The IT intern will work closely with both IT and EHS professionals throughout the business. The IT Intern will report to an EHS Director for Howmet Engines.

Major Activities/Key Challenges: Consults with Business Unit Customers on effective use of computer software, hardware, and technology; interact with necessary business process and systems owners to effectively understand requirements and implement appropriate systems changes and solutions. Activities involved include, but are not limited to:

• Create and maintain SharePoint
• Create and maintain SQL queries
• Create and maintain PowerBI analytics
• Development of system, business process, and data flows
• Interface design
• Solution development
• Development and implementation of systems security
• Development and execution of test plans
• Creation of user and technical documentation
• User Training
• Effectively utilize a standardized project lifecycle and management methodology to manage projects, communicate status, and deliver work to schedule and budget.
• Participates in the reactionary support and/or preventive maintenance process for the systems and/or infrastructure in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
• Stays current with application and/or infrastructure technology in areas of focus or expertise.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with an accredited institution
• This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preference for candidates enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in the following disciplines: Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or Robotics / Automation
• Previous Internship / Co-op experience in computer science or a related discipline
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Willingness to take initiative / self-started
