    Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for an Injection Molding II - HLP Operator in our Encapsulation department. The role is responsible for set up and operation or injection molding machines. This position will be based in our Waco, TX plant.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Set up and operate two or more injection molding machines.
    • Drive and inspect products to determine function.
    • Determine tools, dies and production blanks required from blueprint, set up manual, production work order, and specs.
    • Obtain, install, adjust, and replace tools and dies as required to produce satisfactory product within specified tolerances.
    • Responsible for raw material inventory.
    • Adjust and make minor repairs to machine and accessories.
    • Operator must notify supervisor when trouble is encountered with machines.
    • The operator is responsible for the quality of the product, which must be to print, spec, etc. and must also care for his equipment.
    • Check product frequently and before dumping catch pans using inspection tools, i.e. scale, vernier caliper, micrometer, optical comparator, gages, etc.
    • Lubricate and clean machines.
    • Step in and lead team in the absence of group leader
    • Can schedule the priorities in HLP for the next 12-24 hours of production
    • Communicates with the Small Cell scheduler on priorities for components
    • Communicates with members of QA to ensure product moves smoothly through the inspection process if needed
    • Communicates with Packaging Supervisor/Group Lead on priority product that needs packaged
    • Perform other related duties as required.
    • Must keep work area clean and orderly.
    • Must wear safety equipment provided and work safely at all times.
    • Make out production reports, time cards and other reports or forms, as required.
    • Operators of power equipment will be responsible for checking oil, water, fuel, etc. before and during the operation of said equipment.
    • Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    • High school diploma or GED
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Minimum 2 years of experience performing work in the area and able to demonstrate acceptable performance.
