    Summary

    The Process Engineer Intern position will be located in Niles, Oh. We are seeking a highly motivated and energetic student to join our team as an Engineer Summer Intern. This position will assist engineering and manufacturing in driving improvements in quality and delivery performance through process control and product improvement initiatives.

    Intern Summer Project: Automation Improvements

    Utilize engineering and problem-solving skills to reduce the amount of input material lost during production. Aid in engineering design changes to reduce the cost of poor quality across multiple metal working operations. Identify and optimize daily engineering tasks for automation improvements.

    DAILY JOB DUTIES AND GOALS TO BE ACCOMPLISHED:

    • Identity areas of material waste throughout production processes.

    • Create engineering solutions to improve product yield from start to finish.

    • Identify and improve engineering technical review processes.

    • Support daily production needs for quality and engineering needs.

    • Gather and identify shop floor data for process improvements (yield and FRA).

  • Qualifications

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's degree or master's degree program in one of the following: Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, or Civil Engineering.

    • Minimum completion of Sophomore level coursework from an accredited institution.

    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

    • Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Seeking strong verbal and written communication skills.

    • Excellent analytical and organization skills.

    • Ability to multi-task and work in a self-directed or team environment.

    • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and PLC a plus.

    • Relevant internship/work/research experience preferred.

    • Comfortable with exposure to a manufacturing environment.
