  • Responsibilities

    During this 10-week Summer and 15-week Fall and Spring program, you will intern five days per week at the Federal Aviation Administration either in Washington, D.C. or in regional offices across the country.

    You will gain professional experience in Aviation and Aerospace facilities nationwide, spanning a variety of career fields such as aviation research, flight standards and operations, computer science, engineering (aerospace, computer, civil, electronics, electrical, and mechanical), finance, business, legal, and other aviation and transportation studies. The assignments you work on will be matched with your skills, knowledge, and abilities, allowing you to obtain career-related professional experience where support is needed to in the FAA headquarters, regional offices, and/or centers.

  • Qualifications
    • Be a U.S. citizen.
    • Be able to work a full-time schedule (~40 hours a week) for the duration of the program.
    • Be a currently enrolled as a full-time graduate or undergraduate student at an accredited U.S. college or university, with a graduation date after the internship ends.
    • Have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
    • Have a confirmed interest in FAA and the scope of work presented in the internship job description.
  • Compensation
    Round-trip airfare to and from internship location. $9,705 stipend for undergraduate students or $12,051 for Graduate students if participating for 15 weeks. Otherwise, the stipend will be prorated. $600 stipend for local transportation. Housing is not provided - interns are expected to use their stipend for any housing-related expenses.
