    Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for Supervisor III. This position will be based in our Fullerton, CA plant.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Under the direction of the Department Manager, the Production Supervisor is responsible for directing activities of all assigned employees to ensure the efficient and productive performance of the department. Ensures and promotes a safe working environment that meets the daily production goals in Quality, Output, and On-time delivery.

    • Supports department manager in meeting the departmental goals & objectives
    • Directs assigned areas in the manufacturing, processing, or support areas to meet customer quality, output and on-time delivery
    • Prepares daily production reports and attends department daily production meeting at Daily Management board
    • Ensures manual production documents are made available and properly filled out by all production personnel within their area of responsibility. Additionally, ensures that all data is entered into the system when back on line (whenever there is a system issue) to capture accurate production performance
    • Sets, in concurrence with the department manager, the daily production and quality goals and ensures that these goals are achieved for the assigned areas
    • Completes timekeeping requirements for assigned hourly employees on a daily basis
    • Schedules employee shifts, approves overtime, vacations and other personnel administrative requests with manager approval
    • Ensures employees are taking all breaks and lunches within the required time period
    • Analyses and plans short and long-term department requirements
    • Interfaces with other departments to ensure short and long-term goals and deadlines are accomplished
    • Walks shop floor to ensure all employees maintain productivity standards, performs Bottleneck Machine Rate Studies daily as required
    • Employee relations: promotes teamwork, coaches and counsels employees
    • Familiarizes with company Rules of Conduct
    • Ensures employees are in compliance with all company policies and procedures
    • Coaches, promotes and sustains continuous improvement efforts
    • Establishes and maintains procedures for shop floor housekeeping and 5S implementation
    • Ensures and promotes accountability
    • Cultivates leadership on the production floor - mentors leads to develop their skill base for future opportunities
    • Ensures, promotes and holds the safety, health and well-being of employees and the environment.
    • Develops and implements department training plans
    • Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required by the manager
    • Initiates disciplinary action as needed

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Business or Mechanical/Metallurgical/Industrial Engineering
    • 5 years supervisory/lead experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Fastener or metal forming experience is preferred
    • Knowledgeable about various manufacturing processes
