    HOWMET FASTENING SYSTEMS (HFS) is seeking a QUALITY TECH III, SOURCE INSPECTOR at our aerospace manufacturing facility in the FULLERTON, CA.

    This position performs detailed dimensional inspection for customer over-inspection. Performs Source Inspection on behalf of customers as defined in customer delegation procedures. Completes defective material reports, data processing move transactions and first article reports as required. Communicates with department supervision as necessary. Inspector may be held to established quality standards. Incumbent will have control to make minor adjustments to the process after tasks are assigned.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Inspect parts visually and dimensionally for conformance to manufacturing drawings, quality control specifications and customer requirements.
    • Must utilize all precision measuring equipment and techniques as applicable, including micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
    • Request N.D.T. evaluations as necessary.
    • Use statistical sampling plans; complete/verify various inspection reports-including S.P.C. charts, first article reports, and defective material and test reports.
    • Complete data processing move transactions as required.
    • Communicate any daily activities that may need to be passed forward to the next shift.
    • Must know how to read blueprints, and to use different gages, such as micrometers, calipers, comparators, threat gages, pain gages, high gages, specs, protrusion blocks, etc.
    • Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required. Other duties and/or responsibilities may be performed as part of cross-training or employee development plan.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS Seeking source inspector with AS1300 delegation, fairs according to AS9102, ability to read customer blueprints, document requirements. Must be familiar with manufacturing processes and have the ability to gather, analyze and evaluate data to make decisions in accordance to Company policies and objectives. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word. Knowledge of AS9102 Fairs. COMPUTER SKILLS - To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Syteline Manufacturing software.
