Each year, Spirit offers interns the opportunity to work alongside industry leaders on cutting-edge projects. By joining Spirit as a Spirit intern, you'll get the chance to:

  • Gain skills, leadership and hands-on experience while exploring careers associated with your field of study.
  • Build relationships with mentors to provide insight into your career goals.
  • Do challenging work on individual and team projects.
  • Network with other students, Spirit employees and the community through planned recreational, volunteer and social activities.

Some of the projects this intern may be working on:

  • Serve as an engineering programmer/analyst within a development team creating Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) applications for commercial airplane design and analysis.
  • Work with the team to capture knowledge of engineering best practices in the form of automated solutions to reduce product definition cost and flow time.
  • Work closely with domain experts to document application inputs, outputs, and design rules.
  • Follow organization software engineering and configuration management processes. Develop and execute software test plans.
  • Maintain KBE applications by providing problem resolution, code and documentation updates, and user technical support.

Qualifications

We seek talented candidates for our internship positions. Ideal candidates should meet the following qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a full-time academic program at an ABET accredited college.

  • Classwork to support R&D and materials classes

  • Current sophomore, junior or grad student standing. Seniors should apply to entry level requisitions.

  • Have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

  • U.S Person status
