You will perform a variety of hands-on operations in accordance with standardized processes within customer specifications.

    JOB SUMMARY:

    Using a disciplined process management approach-this position will team with manufacturing operations in developing and implementing sustainable and standardized pre-cast processes that will lead to high product yields of investment castings.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Driving standardized process management using the scientific method and six sigma tools (training provided).

    • Ensuring development and implementation of new materials and techniques rooted in six sigma methodology.

    • Developing a standardized manufacturing process with audit plans to facilitate continuous improvement activities.

    • Acting as a conduit between manufacturing and engineering to ensure that technology needs are communicated and new technology is rapidly tested and implemented.

    • Providing specialist advice and leading projects in this area of expertise.

    • Coordinating and planning projects and resources with new vendors and customers.

    • Writing capital requests, managing costs and controlling budgets for specific pre-cast projects and objectives.

    • Ensure processes are performed in compliance with methods, materials and equipment specifications as detailed in Corporate Manuals, HSATs, and customer specifications.

    • Author and approve new and revised work instructions (Activity Instructions and Product Criteria) for the assigned area of responsibility.

    • Responsible for determination of root cause of any deviation from critical process specification. Responsible for developing a timely and formal reaction plan which will include an escalating help chain system.

    • Active member of Production and NPI part meetings with primary responsibility for developing certain process parameters.

    • Responsible for reporting standardized process audits (HSAT status) on a monthly basis.

    EQUIPMENT USED:

    As a process owner, you will become familiar with numerous pieces of industrial equipment. While the ability to operate the equipment is not required, the process owner should be capable of understanding how the equipment works and how it interacts with the process. A minor amount of equipment diagnostics is part of the work scope.

  • Qualifications

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder')
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering re related field of study
    • 3 years' experience in an engineering function.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Excellent communicate Skills
    • 3 years of experience in investment casting
    • Six Sigma Black belt/Green belt certification
    • Knowledge of statistical software (Minitab, JMP)
    • Knowledge of programing software (SQL, Visual Basic)
