    SUMMARY:

    Howmet Structure Systems (HSS) is seeking a strong Supply Chain Planner with high energy and drive. The Planner will be responsible for working with supply chain management to optimize plant distribution strategy and ensure on-time delivery to the customer. They will deploy inventory strategies, be responsible for product change and associated material planning implications, manage and solve exceptions, and drive supplier execution. This role involves daily management of supply and constraints, status reporting and escalation, supplier engagement and the relentless pursuit of operational excellence and continuous improvement.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    • Assist Howmet HSS's LA management in creating, updating, and following monthly distribution forecasts
    • Prepare and utilize advanced planning tools to generate ad hoc reports
    • Evaluate inventory and supply position to ensure consistent and adequate supply of materials
    • Pursue an understanding of product attributes and customer requirements
    • Follow an established process to review and validate sales orders
    • Obtain quotes from vendors for material and outside processing
    • Create and maintain purchase orders to inter-company and external vendors using SAP
    • Daily status and review of key accounts, orders, stocking levels and re-order points
    • Liason with internal sales and distribution teams to ensure timely execution of order processing and delivery, resolve customer issues with follow-ups, expedited orders, past dues
    • Liason with Howmet LA team to establish and follow new administrative procedures to continually improve plant performance
    • Keeps work area clean, safe, and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis
    • Assume additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
  • Qualifications

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Logistics, Engineering, or similar field
    • 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing or distribution planning and operations
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including proficiency in developing and utilizing pivot tables and VBA macros
    • This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
    • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Knowledge and experience working with SAP desired
    • Previous experience deploying Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Continuous Improvement methodologies
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, intranet and internet usage; expertise in Excel
    • Availability to work overtime hours during peak business periods
    • Requires candidate work both within a team and independently when appropriate
    • Strong written communication and organizational skills required
    • Must exercise considerable discretion and independent judgment
    • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
    • Demonstrated problem solving, systems thinking, and team building abilities
    • Demonstrable analytical ability and problem-solving ability
