ASSET BACKED SECURITIES TRADER

As a Barclays Asset Backed Securities (“ABS”) Trader, you will be providing liquidity to clients in the ABS market. The ABS Trading desk is a client facing trading operation focused on providing secondary market liquidity to global clients including central banks, asset managers, insurance & pension funds, mortgage reits, originators, servicers, banks etc.  You will have the opportunity to provide integrated and innovative strategies to help meet the unique capital and investment needs of our clients across the securitization spectrum.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Driving the business strategy in coordination with distribution, local and global trading managers, in the ABS Market

• Generating trading ideas, communicating to sales team and research, and directly to the clients

• Providing bids on monthly production bid-lists as and when required

• Marking book in accordance to marking procedures and interacting with product control group to calculate daily PnL

• Collaborating with Operations to clear any trade or settlement issues where necessary

• Providing Marks to Client Valuations group when required

• Working with infrastructure partners to maintain strong control environment

• Managing inventory along with hedges, treasuries, and futures ando ther risks according to risk guidelines

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business

• Experience in a financial services firm or institution 

• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

• Extensive Trading Experience in MBS Trading

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP  YOU IN THE ROLE:

• Ability to work in a flexible, fast-paced and high pressure environment 

• Good verbal and written communication skills to drive franchise business co-working with Sales and Research
