    AML ESCALATION ANALYST

    As a Barclays AML Escalation Analyst, you will support various AML processes, which might include suspicious activity investigations and reporting, sanctions and politically exposed persons (PEP) screening, and other AML related processes.  You will work closely with management to ensure critical functions are fulfilled timely and accurately. The AML Department of Barclaycard is one of the first lines of defence in protecting the bank from being used for money laundering.

    WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

    • Reviewing system generated alerts to assess presence of illicit activity that may require reporting based on BSA/ AML requirements

    • Writing suspicious activity reports (SARs) 

    • Completing follow-up reviews on activity that was previously reported as suspicious

    • Identifying trends and report to management

    • Completing other applicable AML processes in accordance with regulations and time limitations

    • Submitting potential closure forms to LOB

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

    • 2+ years’ work experience in an AML capacity and knowledge of investigative techniques used in the investigation of financial crimes

    • At least 2 years’ experience in the banking or financial services industry

    • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Fraud Prevention, or Homeland Security or equivalent work experience

    SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

    • Attention to detail, understanding of importance of accuracy and responsiveness

    • Excellent problem solving skills along with communication skills, both verbal and written

    • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure, ability to work under minimal supervision

    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, results driven with a commitment to continuous process improvement and quality
