AGENCY CMO DERIVATIVES TRADER

As a Barclays Agency Collateralized Mortgage Obligation (CMO) Trader/Structurer, you will be a contributing member of the Agency CMO Trading desk, a client-facing trading operation focused on structuring new issue securitizations backed by Agency MBS pools and providing secondary market liquidity to serve the investment needs of our global clients.

What will you be doing?

• Structuring and trading of new issue and secondary Agency CMOs

• Driving the business strategy in coordination with sales distribution, local and global trading managers, in the Agency CMO market

• Generating trade ideas and communicating with sales team, research, and directly with clients

• Enhancing internal infrastructure and framework, including automation of processes and collaboration with the Quantitative Analytics on the prepayment model

• Managing inventory along with MBS and rates hedges and their associated risks according to risk guidelines

• Marking trading book to market in accordance with marking procedures

• Interacting with the Product Control Group to review daily P&L and with Operations to clear any trade or settlement issues where necessary

• Working with infrastructure partners to maintain a strong control environment

What we’re looking for:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, or other quantitative field

• Extensive experience in Agency CMO trading and structuring with comfort in client interaction

• Strong analytical and logical reasoning skills

• Command of MBS fundamentals and a general understanding of broader related products

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Bloomberg, Intex Dealmaker, Yieldbook

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to a changing trading and policy environment

• Good verbal and written communication skills to drive franchise business, collaborating with Sales and Research

• Programming experience, including VBA or Python, not necessary but additive
