ASSOCIATE - FINANCIAL SPONSORS GROUP

As Barclays Associate - Financial Sponsors Group, this is an exciting opportunity where you will gain an in-depth understanding of sponsor clients by working on transactions where the firm is providing strategic advice related to M&A, restructuring, and recapitalization, as well as raising capital in the private and public equity and debt capital markets.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Playing a key role in the execution on a deal or proposal; executing a transaction and creating new business presentations

• Completing financial analysis/modeling, industry research, and preparation of offering memoranda and other written materials

• Utilize your knowledge of finance and capital markets to understand the client’s needs and work with the internal team to deliver that need to the client

• Developing effective working relationships and to demonstrate a strong commitment to the Firm’s goals and values

• Participating in activities such as task forces, recruiting, and training to broaden exposure throughout the firm and making a meaningful contribution to Barclays.

• You will generate innovative solutions to problems, and effectively utilize available resources

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or similar

• Minimum three plus years in the Finance industry

• Minimum three plus years working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

• FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses (or equivalent)

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

• Prior experience as an investment banking analyst or associate

• Prior experience or knowledge of the Financial Sponsors industry

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills 

• Experience with financial modelling, building, using and operating cash flow projections and credit financial analysis
