    Co-Op Program Experience

    Santander Bank’s Co-Op Program provides participants with a meaningful, relevant work experience as part of their academic studies.     Program Dates

    • The Spring Co-Op Program is a 24-week, full-time program which runs from January 8 – June 22, 2018.

    Job Description

    In this role you will have the opportunity to support Santander Bank's Commercial Banking/Transaction Banking division on two strategic initiatives reporting to Head of Client Service and Onboarding and to Head of Deposits and Business Management. The initiatives will provide exposure to $20B Commercial Banking franchise comprised of 4,000 Middle Market and Real Estate corporate clients where the global bank operates in the Northeast, US. Specific role and responsibilities for this initiative will be to assist the Client Service and Onboarding team in the client conversion process of Santander Treasury Link. Specific Business Marketing role and responsibilities for this initiative will be to assist Product Managers and Sales Officers responsible for providing advanced cash management products including receivable, payables, and liquidity products used by our clients in their everyday business.

    Duties:

    • Santander Treasury Link Implementation/Migration: Replacement of legacy electronic banking platform with state of the art corporate online banking platform. Large scale IT project involving cross functional project teams with very high senior management visibility.
    • Project management/coordination support for business team (e.g. update issue log, action items, project documentation preparation, meeting coordination and minutes)
    • System Testing.
    • Customer migration planning and execution.
    • Customer roll out support (training, marketing, customer event coordination).
    • Santander Business Management/Data Mining; Implement state of the art Portfolio Management Database Tool into Division's business process to impact Business Analytics and Sales Performance results.
    • Broad Exposure to Division and Sales Leadership.
    • Franchise Revenue and Trend Analysis.
    • Competitive Analysis.
    • Segmentation and Opportunity Identification.
    • Data Mining Program Development.
    • Prepare and Present Business Insights/Analytics to Senior Management.
    • Portfolio Reporting.

    Applicant Requirements

    • Must have an expected graduation date between December 2018 – June 2019.
    • Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above.
    • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the program.
    • Note: U.S. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

    Qualifications

    • Strong computer skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and ideally Access.
    • Highly motivated with the desire to exceed expectations.
    • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity, critical thinking and analytical skills.
    • Crisp communication skills with the ability to express facts and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing, interacting professionally and effectively.
