COO - CONTROLS ASSURANCE & ISSUES REMEDIATION SPECIALIST

As a Barclays CCO - Control Assurance & Issues Remediation Specialist, you will be responsible for providing teams with an informed opinion on the effectiveness of controls they operate and how to mitigate material risks.  You will undertake testing of controls to validate designs, operating effectiveness and sustainability of controls operated by the business.  This will also include challenging the control self-assessments performed annually. You will need to articulate findings from testing work and raise issues where appropriate and agree actions plans to mitigate risks identified.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• You will assist and support the development of the Control Testing plan

• You will be reviewing/Control Testing - undertake planning, execute DEA/OET testing

• Articulating verbally and write Controls Testing reports with minimal supervision

• Delivering Controls Testing reviews in line with quality and timeline expectations – accountable for the accuracy of data in the Controls Testing Tool 

• Developing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, and represent the Controls Testing & Execution team in meetings, working groups etc., as required

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Undergraduate degree or relevant business experience

• Proven experience in one or more of the following: Internal/External Audit; Operational Risk Management; or Risk and Control related discipline

• Experience of working in a Bank or Financial Services preferably in areas of Markets e.g. Macro, Equities, Credit, Fixed Income Financing and Securitized Products

• A good understanding of risk and control assessment techniques

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

• Specialist Risk and/or Control-related qualification – formal accreditation/qualification relating to audit, risk and/or control etc.

• Knowledge of the Financial Services regulatory environment
