Climate Management Strategy Associate

As a Barclays Climate Management Strategy Associate, you will work with the Head of Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) Climate Strategy Management. You will engage with stakeholders to maintain, enhance, and scale the Client Transition Framework (CTF), which is the methodology used to evaluate our clients’ transition plans. This is an opportunity for you to advise senior leaders across Barclays on the functions of the CTF to ensure their clients are transitioning in a manner consistent with real-world decarbonization.
Salary / Rate Minimum: $125,000
Salary / Rate Maximum: $170,000

What will you be doing?
• Owning the delivery of CTF evaluations, including driving data collection and validation activities
• Researching client transition plans, operating related models, and implementing technology solutions
• Preparing synthesized summaries of key insights and present analysis and insight in a professional format with good attention to detail
• Working in a team environment, building relationships, and partnering with internal stakeholders across the CIB and impacted Functions
• Supporting communications with CIB coverage teams and other stakeholders on key activities to monitor and report on progress
• Managing individual day-to-day activities, delivering on all assigned tasks, maintaining visibility of related issues & dependencies, and proactively escalating any identified issues
• Developing expertise in climate change issues, decarbonization strategies across sectors, and Barclays climate policies, standards, and targets
What we’re looking for:
• Bachelor’s degree is required & experience working in a wholesale banking or financial services consulting environment, and basic knowledge of Banking business drivers
• Good quantitative/analytical, written, and verbal communication skills: Capable of building complex, but easy to read, Excel models
• Familiar with operating across departments in large and complex organizations
• Basic knowledge of risk management & regulatory demands
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Prior experience or knowledge of climate scenarios, decarbonization pathways or other relevant climate change topics
• Timely delivery of finished work products; predisposed to take initiative on new/unfamiliar tasks but unafraid to ask for additional support when required
• Collaborative working style with ability to quickly build trust/credibility, network, and influencing others; self-confidence & maturity to effectively work with senior stakeholders
• Familiar with project management tools, concepts, and best practices/methodologies
