CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICE CLOUD ARCHITECT

As a Barclays Chief Technology Office Cloud Architect,  this is an exciting opportunity where you will provide cloud expertise to both delivery teams and other CTO Lead Architects to ensure best practice, resolve delivery challenges, improve Barclay’s cloud platforms and further develop centrally maintained re-usable infrastructure as code assets.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Providing subject matter expertise for Cloud technologies including but not limited to Amazon Web Services (AWS)

• Managing of CTO re-usable Service Catalog Products

• Developing infrastructure as a code using Cloud Formation and Terraform

• Developing cloud reference architectures

• Collaborating on cloud migration designs to ensure architectures are efficient, resilient, secure, and operable

• Problem solving with CTO architects, CIO delivery teams, Global Technology Infrastructure Services (GTIS) and Chief Security Office (CSO) 

• Working with CIO delivery teams in identifying and resolving technical challenges when they are migrating applications to both public and private cloud venues

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR?

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics or other Scientific discipline

• Ability to design and implement Cloud technologies, containerisation and Cloud platforms (AWS or Azure preferred)

• Writing infrastructure as code e.g. CloudFormation or Terraform

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

• Public cloud certifications from AWS or Azure

• Code development e.g. Python or Java

• Ability to work in Technology within a highly regulated environment e.g. an Investment Bank
