CLOUD ENGINEER

As a Barclays Cloud Engineer, you will be enabling US Consumer Bank (USCB) Contact Centre to leverage the benefits of Private Cloud and Public Cloud by designing, developing and deploying solutions that enable our applications to migrate to the Cloud. In your new role you will also contribute to the Cloud strategy through innovation, strategic initiatives and increasing capability within the area.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

•     Building the automated provisioning and deployment of Cloud infrastructure, services and applications into Private Cloud and Public Cloud environments

•     Ensuring all resiliency, observability, supportability, security and operational readiness requirements are met

•     Extracting common practices and standards to support USCB contact center and contribute to the wider Barclays Cloud migration efforts through development 

•     Building automated tests that fit into the bigger picture of software delivery for building cloud infrastructure, optimizing the execution of tests 

•     Contributing to the migration strategy and drive the best value from the Cloud

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

•     Experience with AWS Cloud and deploying cloud formation stacks 

•     Working experience in Go-Lang, Jenkins Pipelines, Scripting 

•     Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills 

•     AWS certifications

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

•     Exposure to Assisted Channels and Contact Centre Domain is a plus 

•     Operation engineer experience within a banking or other financial sector domain
