PROGRAM DATES

The Summer Internship Program is a 12-week, full-time program which runs from JUNE 4 – AUGUST 24, 2018.

SUMMARY

This role is responsible for assisting the heads of External and Internal Communications with activities aimed at promoting and supporting the company's business lines.

These include, but are not limited to, developing content for press releases, social media posts, talking points, internal communications, presentations, as well as articles and features for Santander's two intranet sites and editing and proofing projects. This position will also provide video editing and photography support to the company's intranet sites and corporate events and will contribute to research projects as assigned.

The candidate will help ensure Santander's internal and external communications objectives are met and are in line with the needs of the business.

• Write press releases, media advisories, pitches, talking points, and website copy as well as internal communications and intranet articles.
• Prioritize/manage multiple writing and research assignments and obtain all necessary approvals.
• Assist with compilation of the company's daily news clips when needed.
• Lend support to external and internal communications plans for upcoming corporate announcements.
• Shadow members of the communications team to get exposure to the full scope of Santander's communications functions.
• Other duties as assigned.

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

• Must have an expected graduation date between December 2018 – June 2019.

• Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above.

• Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the program.

• NOTE: U.S. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Successful interns are extremely well organized, proactive, interested in learning about all facets of communications and have a positive attitude.
• Interns need to be able to work productively both independently and with staff members at all levels.
• Position requires an interest in a communications career, excellent communications skills, a high level of professionalism, attention to details/deadlines and strong research skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of WordPress a plus.
• Photography and video editing experience highly desirable.
• Focused attention to detail and consistent execution.
