Front-Office Developer

As a Barclays Front-Office Developer, you will provide technical and business driven solutions and contribute to enhancing the platform. This is part of a significant re-architecture initiative to move to new technologies for a robust, stable and performant pricing platform for the next 10 years. You will also develop and ship both revenue generating and regulatory projects in addition to improving the existing system, alongside supporting our key users from trading, structuring and sales.

Salary/ Rate Minimum: $60,000
Salary/ Rate Maximum: $125,000

What will you be doing?

• Developing high quality maintainable code with clear documentation, standard style, and modern code structure
• Working and communicating globally with other developers and stakeholders
• Coordinating with quantitative analytics team in delivering innovative solutions
• Following proficiently the standard software development methods and tools and keeping actively current with new technologies (i.e. desire to learn)
• Adhering to Policies & Standards appropriate to the role - outlined in the Code of Conduct and mandatory training
• Investigating and having resolution of Production issues timely by working with users and team members and by applying swift and adequate technical changes

What we’re looking for:

• Experience developing applications in core Java (8 or 8+); knowledge of multi-threading development and familiar with common Java frameworks, e.g. spring framework
• Experience developing Python applications
• Experience in building Containerised micro-services and REST APIs
• Understanding or keen desire to learn another programming language or technology and associated eco-systems is highly sought after

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Knowledge of HTTP protocol and web services
• Experiences with market data, valuation, or risk platforms
• Experience building systems in trading, banking and / or financial organizations
• Experience providing support and resolving production issues
