Geopolitical and Physical Security Intelligence Analyst
GEOPOLITICAL & PHYSICAL SECURITY INTELLIGENCE ANALYST
As a Barclays Geopolitical & Physical Security Intelligence Analyst, you will help support senior figures across Barclays to navigate geopolitical trends and horizon risks by looking beyond security. You will provide timely and clearly articulated warnings and assessments of any new or evolving threats to its people, premises and assets in the Americas. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining appropriate relationships to ensure the bank receives relevant and informed insight in a timely manner.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
Producing timely and high quality analysis and assessment of geopolitical risks that the organization may encounter
Supporting with the organization’s day-to-day operations and strategic directions
Producing timely and high quality analysis and assessment of terrorist, criminal, protest/civil activism and political instability threats to Barclays in the Americas
Developing and maintaining a sustainable network of appropriate and reliable sources of information on geopolitical trends and developments and on security threats
Developing and maintaining awareness of the wider global implications of geopolitical events and trends and of evolving security threats in order to support wider team
Supporting development of new, innovative intelligence products to meet existing and evolving stakeholder requirements
Collaborating across the CSO function and the wider bank to develop product requirements from existing consumers of intelligence
Understanding and appropriately supporting the operations of other units as necessary, including through development of new and refined intelligence products
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
A university degree in international relations, security, political economy, or relevant subject, or extensive experience in an analytic role with a practitioner organization(s)
Experience as an intelligence analyst and familiarity with advanced analytic techniques and with the synthesis of quantitative and qualitative information
Significant experience working on issues related to the foreign and security policies of major Western and non-Western countries
Comfortable with collecting, managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data to derive intelligence insights
SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:
Experience of data analytics in a professional role
Experience of working across time zones in a multicultural setting
Advanced Microsoft Office skills essential, including; Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Excellent attention to detail in written communication and ability to provide oral briefings to all levels of the organization
