HEAD OF US ALGO AND EXECUTION OMS – QA

As a Barclays Head of US Algo and Execution OMS – QA you will be accountable for providing the infrastructure and trading services for Algo and Smart Router components of the electronic trading. The team works with Product, SMAD (Statistical modelling and Development) and Quantitative research teams to service high and low touch electronic trading to internal groups and Barclays’ clients.  The Head of US Algo QA will be in charge of assisting the testing function for our flagship Barx One and Rates One D2D platforms.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

•     Developing both tactical and strategic solutions to meet business requirements

•     Developing automated testing tools to exercise functionality, performance, and capacity of code

•     Providing estimates for tasks, including design, development, technical debt, and testing

•     Support analysis, testing, and operations teams 

•     Producing code that is appropriate for a low-latency java platform

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

•     Extensive experience Core Java or C++

•     Proficient experience with Linux 

•     Solid experience with multi-threading, memory management, or performance tuning

•     Experience with building algo/sor/market making infrastructure and/or strategies

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

•    Experience with development and build tools, ideally: Maven, Gradle, Git, IntelliJ, Eclipse

•    Full lifecycle development of a commercial system, including requirements definition, agile  planning, releasing, and production support

•    Critical thinking and problem-solving skills

•    Collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills

WHERE WILL YOU BE WORKING?

You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
