    Co-Op Program Experience

    Santander Bank’s Co-Op Program provides participants with a meaningful, relevant work experience as part of their academic studies.     Program Dates

    • The Spring Co-Op Program is a 24-week, full-time program which runs from January 8 – June 22, 2018.

    The Technology Finance team is responsible for managing the technology finance/budget for Santander Bank. Managing finance includes budgets, expenses, forecasts, invoices, funding and accounting of activities in the technology department. Finance team ensures that technology is working within the guidelines set by Finance.

    The Financial Analyst Co-Op role will provide the co-op an understanding of technology projects and the financial management. The role will provide direct knowledge of projects, vendors, costs related to technology in a banking institute and their accounting treatment.

    Duties:

    • Manage the funding process which involves understanding and tracking expense requests using SAP and Excel.
    • Quality check CIO office submissions for fund requests and their proper accounting treatment.
    • Prepare for and attend executive level meetings to document results and provide minutes.
    • Analyze reports from SAP to support finance team with invoice payment and PO management.
    • Work closely with various business and technology teams to resolve outstanding invoice and funding issues.
    • Create financial reports using Excel and Power Point.
    • Online Training required to ensure compliance with bank policies.

    Applicant Requirements

    • Must have an expected graduation date between December 2018 – June 2019.
    • Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above.
    • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the program.
    • Note: U.S. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

    Qualifications

    • Major in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, MIS or related field.
    • Clear explanation of why a role with SBNA Finance office would help with career aspirations.
    • Highly motivated and results oriented with a desire to exceed expectations.
    • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and courage in their leadership style.
    • Crisp communication skills with the ability to express facts and ideas clearly both verbally and in writing, interacting professionally and effectively with people at all levels.
    • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem skills.
    • Ability to multi-task as required.
    • Ability to work independently on special assignments.
    • Detail driven with proven analytical skills.
    • Experience and knowledge in Accounting and Finance.
    • Proficient in MS Office suite specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
    • This role does not require technical skills, however, candidates with some finance, accounting, and management background are preferred.
