What will you be doing?

• Facilitate client transactions by providing liquidity and market making services in U.S. Interest Rates derivatives contracts.
• Monitor and manage risk within the U.S. Interest Rates swaps trading portfolios by executing hedging trades and securing risk limits.
• Perform technical analyses of U.S. Interest Rates fundamental, overnight market activities and upcoming economic data for risk management.
• Identify relationships and trends in data, interpret statistical data to assess trade risk, and generate trade ideas based on current market environment.
• Develop computational methods of financial modeling and execute trades for Barclays’ Rates Trading team.
• Use algorithmic optimization for data analysis and back testing.
• Use stochastic optimization, differential equations, calculus and other numerical methods and quantitative models to discern pricing options.
• Review pricing models to understand assumptions and weaknesses, and make any necessary changes.
• Provide market color and risk management solutions to help clients manage their U.S. Interest Rates exposure, meet investment goals, and reflect their market views.
• Partner with Sales, Quantitative Analytics, Research, and Structuring teams to ensure best client outcomes.
• Develop franchise relations with key clients and cultivate new relationships.
• Ensure rigorous regulatory adherence and operational business framework.
• Supervise two Traders.

What we’re looking for:

Requires Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Financial Engineering, Analytics, or related quantitative field and two (2) years of experience as an Interest Rates Swaps Trader or related Trader role for a global financial services firm. In the alternative, employer will accept Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in stated fields and five (5) years of post-baccalaureate progressive experience in stated occupations. Must have at least two (2) years of experience with each of the following skills: Using advanced statistical methods to perform complex financial modeling; Using Bloomberg, Excel, Python, VBA, RiskVal, and risk analytics systems to analyze financial information and various conditions (business, industry, economics); Reviewing information from financial publications and services, investment banking firms, government agencies, and interviews to perform economic forecasting; Facilitating customer hedging and performing risk management of interest rate risk financial products; Evaluating relative value of securities; and Giving client presentations on economy and investment landscape. Must have knowledge of macroeconomic risk management principles and procedures. FINRA Series 7, 24 & 63 certifications required within six (6) months of hire.

Where will you be working?

You will be working at our New York, New York location at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the façade of the building. The building is easily accessible to Restaurants, Shops and Public Transportation.

Salary/Rate Minimum/yr: $220,000
