    Citizens Bank is looking for highly motivated and talented individuals for the Internal Audit Internship. The Internal Audit department is staffed by over 100 skilled professionals with a mission of consistently providing the Board, Audit Committee, Shareholders, and Executive Management with an independent and objective view of the effectiveness of the Bank’s control environment, risk management practices, and culture. As an Intern in Internal Audit, you will participate in various activities which provide independent assurance on the appropriateness of the design and operational effectiveness of risk management and internal control processes that mitigate key risks. Under the supervision of a member of the Internal Audit team, you will assess risk in line with bank policy, industry standards, and regulatory requirements and take on assignments to support the completion of audits.

    The Internal Audit Internship starts in Early June 2019.

    Primary responsibilities include:

    • Participate in various audit activities, such as reviewing relevant background material or analyzing data, documenting meeting notes, or preparing and/or updating process maps, to identify risks and controls of the area being audited
    • Execute testing of controls, documenting test steps taken and summarizing testing results during audits or issue validation activities
    • Adhere to IA Methodology and bank policies and procedures
    • Performs various ad hoc requests, such as data input or analysis, as needed
    • Hours per Week: 40
    • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications include:

    • Self-starter and self-motivated
    • Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Team player who can work closely with others to complete projects under pressure with limited time and resources
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Information Technology, or related degree
    • Preferred graduation date of May 2020
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0
