JAVA APPLICATION DEVELOPER (AVP)

As a Barclays Java Application Developer (AVP), you will use your knowledge to design and develop new trading functionalities on global trading platform, which supports multiple trading desks. In your new role you will also perform regular detailed code reviews. Equities High Touch Technology team is responsible for designing and developing the trading GUIs used by Barclays’ equities desks, which provides solutions for the bank’s internal traders.

Salary/ Rate Minimum: $106,000

Salary/ Rate Maximum: $140,000

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

•     Designing and implementing the server code used in our next-generation high touch trading infrastructure

•     Integrating with the new strategic order management system stack, and having a very strong focus on cleaning coding

•     Designing and developing high-quality, efficient and readable business logic code

•     Driving and influencing global teams for project-oriented work

•     Investigating production issues and working with stakeholders to clarify requirements

•     Designing and developing new trading functionality in areas targeted for growth

•     Performing regular detailed code reviews

•     Working with QA to coordinate and sign-off regional releases

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

•     Knowledge of Java, JDK, JVM, Git., VCS tools

•     Knowledge of Spring IOC, RDBMS, shell scripting, Maven, etc.

•     Working experience with Middleware technologies (i.e. MQ, Tibco, Solace)

•     Experience with Linux/ Unix and Distributed file system

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

•     Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant analytical field

•     Experience working on large trading applications

•     Experience working in a large enterprise and time critical team environment with solution-focused attitude

•     Someone who is a multitasker and problem-solver with following abilities: analytical,  technical, troubleshooting and research
