MIGRATION SPECIALIST BACKUP ENGINEER

As a Barclays Migration Specialist Backup Engineer, you will be part of the Global Storage team that works with the project management and customer community focusing on the design/delivery/Process effort in priority order against Bank projects, understanding robust technical Backup Storage technology & processes within enterprise operational and hierarchical Storage Management environments.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Engineering change and supporting of the Global Backup Storage Operational Environments

• Contributing to the GTIS Controls Delivery Operational Framework, including continual improvement review and annual refresh

• Driving improvements and implementation and on-going operations across the global Backup estate

• Ensuring technical programs are executed appropriately, in order to maintain appropriate levels of delivery and Service

• Monitoring Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) / Key Risk Indicators (KRI’s) across the Global Storage Estate

• You will be responsible for remediation of control deficiencies highlighted through KPI’s / KRI’s metrics

• Leading and contribute to Change functions within a global Backup Team

• Attending as a Backup Engineer representative, within working forums relating to technical, processes and standards

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Backup Storage Operational Knowledge on a large scale

• Reporting experience across multiple technologies

• Key Senior Stakeholder Management Experience on a large scale

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

• Knowledge of Dell technologies 

• Knowledge of IBM Spectrum Protect

• Good knowledge of wider Storage technologies
