MONGO DB DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR

As a Barclays Mongo DB Database Administrator, this exciting opportunity where your role will be a technical SME and provide technical support, advice and guidance to all Barclays business areas implementing RDBMS platform based solutions. As a member of the Operations Infrastructure teams, the primary function of the role is to ensure the Oracle and Mongo Databases are secure, robust, resilient and compliant to PCI standards.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• Engaging in Incident, Change and Problem management, as part of BAU Operations activities

• Owning and leading technical resolution for high severity production incidents

• Involving in estate wide patching, Scheduled Disaster Recovery/Production Crossover exercises and estate wide remediation and rollouts

• Communicating complex technical issues to a wide audience

• Analyzing of re-occurring incidents and identify service improvements where possible

• Adhering to Barclays standards for change control, database security and database patterns, adhering to bank’s governance and control procedures

• Providing on-call rota support where required

• Being an effective, proactive team member, influencing the behavior of colleagues internally and across Infrastructure Services

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

• Candidate should have good experience in MongoDB database administration. Experience on other technologies like DB2, MariaDB, Sybase as well will be added advantage

• Experience in Tuning, Query Optimization and other related monitoring and troubleshooting

• Knowledge of monitoring tools (mongotop, mongostat etc), Backup/restore and PIT recovery of Replica sets

• Replica set maintenance and troubleshooting, Sharded Cluster maintenance, data management, user management, authentication mechanisms supported by MongoDB

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

• Good knowledge about scripting on a Linux platform

• Installation, Upgradation and configuration of MongoDB product

• Preferred secondary skills of DB2, Sybase and Maria DB. User privilege Management, DB backup restore and recovery knowledge

• Knowledge of DB2 Utilities like Load, Explain, Reorg, Run stats, db2top, db2advis, backup
