    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Risk is present in all of Santander’s activities and effective Risk Management is a critical component of the Bank’s success. Through application of the Bank’s Risk Framework and the continuous identification and assessment of risk, Santander seeks to ensure that all of our businesses operate inside of clearly established limits, are able to proactively quantify exposures, and take corrective action when required. As a member of the Risk Management division, you’ll be part of a diverse team of talented professionals who interact with senior risk team personnel, business managers and other Bank disciplines in order to understand business operations and dynamics, and analyze, monitor, and manage related risks.

    This role is responsible for supporting the Operational Risk Manager. The Operational Risk Analyst will support the strategic development, implementation and effective execution of the Operational Risk program, the key program elements of which cover: Internal Loss, External Loss, Risk assessment / business impact assessments, Key Risk Indicators, Scenario Analysis / Stress Testing training, awareness and communication. Other duties include issues and remediation planning and tracking MIS and reporting, testing, compliance, and monitoring.

    The objective in control and management of Operational Risk is to identify, measure/evaluate, control/mitigate and monitor this risk for Risk Mandates/Risk Tolerance in monitoring and reporting upon Board established Risk Mandate metrics; implementing and monitoring Line of Business Risk Mandate reporting; monitoring Line of Business Risk Scorecard reporting; and providing quality assurance and quality control upon periodic Board and senior management reporting.

    Duties:

    • Maintenance of databases and files.
    • Create best practices processes and liaise with Operational Risk function.
    • Provide quality assurance and quality control for periodic Risk Tolerance, Scorecard, and Mandate reporting.
    • Review and report upon Risk Mandate metrics.
    • Work with Risk Identification and Assessment function to consider, receive, and provide periodic updates in order to analyze relevant impact for purposes of providing recommendations for enhanced metrics and processes within Risk Mandates and Scorecards.
    • Align to Risk teams to work on various projects and initiatives across Risk and Compliance.

    APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have an expected graduation date between December 2018 – June 2019.
    • Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above.
    • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the program.
    • NOTE:_ _U.S. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Majoring in Finance, Business Management or related field.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.
    • Strong time management skills.
    • Superior organizational and analytical skills.
    • Team oriented and able to work independently.
