RFT DMT APPLICATION RTB SUPPORT

As a Barclays RFT Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) Application Support, you will be responsible to support applications built on strategic data platforms hosted internally and externally. You will have to engage with Build the Bank, Run the Bank, Platform build team, and Infrastructure teams to ensure Stability & Availability of the platform(s), ensuring day to day operations and governance of the platform(s) and application(s) meet all Barclays technology standards.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

• End to end management for data platforms used for mission critical applications part of Enterprise Data Platforms and RFT

• Engage closely with development, vendor, business teams to ensure smooth on-boarding, migrations, timely delivery of reports and services to internal and external stakeholders

• Triage and resolving incidents which may have a potential impact on the service

• Reviewing incident, problem, change & events regularly to ensure we understand issues and fix them wherever applicable

• Conducting resiliency tests planned by technology resilience validation team, to ensure platform stability and recoverability

• Supporting the global RTB team and vendor teams

• Ensure critical KPI, SLA and deliverables are met for all the applications on a daily basis. Partner with BTB and business to resolve production issues caused by change or process

• Drive automation and continuous process improvement to ensure operational efficiency and cost optimization

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Degree in information systems or computer science or any equivalent

• Experience in application management, infrastructure management

• Proven experience in working with Linux/Unix operating systems, open source/cloud technologies

• Proficient in scripting technologies like Unix Shell, Perl, Python

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

• Certified or working knowledge in Big Data Technologies – Cloudera, AWS

• Knowledge with monitoring and scheduling tools like autosys, ITRS, AppDynamics

• Understanding of Data Mart, Data Lakes and Data Warehouse principles
