LEAD FRONTEND DEVELOPER

As a Barclays Lead Frontend Developer, you will drive success by designing and developing a new trading system frontend, optimizing application performance, and coordinating with global development, product and QA teams to deliver releases. You will improve our engineering expertise, as well as lead and develop a team of full stack and backend software engineers.

WHAT WILL YOU BE  DOING?

• You will be improving our engineering expertise, address tech debt, improve coding standards, quality and test practices

• You will be optimizing application performance by profiling, finding inefficiencies and bottlenecks

• You will de designing, developing and maintaining new and existing features for Front-End applications for framework

• You will be working with traders, operations, and support to analyze new requirements, explain new features and investigate reported issues

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience

• 3+ years’ experience working in a global Investment Banking environment

• People management experience

• Proficiency with HTML5, CSS3, SASS, jQuery, JavaScript, React, NodeJS and Bootstrap, AWS and Infrastructure management/DevOps

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

• Experience building SPAs (Single Page Applications)

• Understanding of Webservices, caching, websockets, messaging/middleware technologies (Tibco EMS, Solace a plus), relational databases (Oracle a plus)

• Ability to effectively communicate with senior users in a global, team-based environment

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and develop a team
