SOFTWARE DEVELOPER

As a Barclays Software Developer, you will be responsible for delivering enhancements to the existing platform application. You will also identify performance enhancements opportunities, such as current distributed caching technologies, overall simplification of application workflows and orchestration. You will understand the rewards business requirements design and develop optimal solutions that cater to the project. You will work with solutions engineer / solution architect team work on implementing the solutions.

We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

•     Creating and enhancing existing rewards applications using technologies such as Java, Spring, ActiveMq

•     Writing devOps scripts for code deployment

•     Supporting incidents and problems management as a level 3 support 

•     Writing unit/system test cases for applications

•     Being a good team player who can work with onsite and offshore teams

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING  FOR:

•     Extensive experience in backend programming language such as Java

•     Extensive experience in developing and Consuming Rest and SOAP API with industry standard authentication mechanism

•     Experience in messaging systems such as Kafka, ActiveMq logging framework such as Log4j, Appdynamics, Micro Services and Object Oriented design patterns

•     Working knowledge of logging framework such as Log4j, Appdynamics, of RBMS such as Oracle

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

•     Three to four years of experience in Java and Spring framework is preferred 

•     Experience with Cloud computing technologies is a HUGE plus

•     Experience with event driven architecture is a plus

•     Financial services and industry knowledge is preferred
