Software Engineer

As a Barclays Software Engineer, you will analyze requirements in an Agile Team and develop features. You will be collaborating with other Engineers, Tech Leads and product owners to provide accurate and timely updates.

What will you be doing?

• Understanding requirements, analyzing and presenting possible approaches while collaborating in an Agile Team

• Designing and developing new functionality to support business growth and strategic platform

• Interacting with product owners to understand requirements and work within a team to discuss alternative solutions and implement

• Maintaining and improving quality of solutions and code

• Delivering functionality with comprehensive Unit Test cases, and also write automated test cases

What we’re looking for?

• University degree in computer science

• Prior experience of Software design and development, of enterprise Java/JEE based applications/products

• Extensive hands-on experience in JAVA/J2EE software deployments at scale

• Strong knowledge of Object Oriented Concepts and Design Patterns

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Strong Unix, Shell Scripting, Docker or other containers

• AWS or other cloud platform

• Knowledge with Maven, GIT, TeamCity, Nexus, SonarCube, IntelliJ Idea

• Strong analytical skills and logical thinking to manage issues in a high-pressure environment
