    This role is regulated by FINRA.

    As a Barclays Thematic Macro Research Analyst, you’ll be part of a small team that produces in-depth, medium to long-term research on key macroeconomic themes which are shaping global economies, and their implications for policy and asset allocation. Your role will be split between data exploration, econometric modelling, and writing. This is an exciting opportunity to work on projects that vary across topics and geographies.

    Salary / Rate Minimum: $ 150,000

    Salary / Rate Maximum: $ 170,000

    What will you be doing?

    • Contributing to written research notes and publications on a regular basis
    • Building and interpreting quantitative state-of-the art economic models
    • Interpreting the results of the model and conveying them in a clear and concise way
    • Evaluating, collecting, and combining data from traditional and alternative data sources
    • Working collaboratively with a senior analyst and using a rigorous set of frameworks and economic and financial models to answer relevant research questions
    • Collaborating, interacting, and coordinating closely with the wider Global Research, Macroeconomic and Data Science Teams frequently

    What we’re looking for:

    • PhD Degree in Economics or Finance
    • Ability to work by oneself and maintain a long-term focus
    • Experience or coursework in Economics/Finance/Econometrics with a solid academic track record
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills

    Skills that will help you in the role:

    • Organized with excellent attention to detail
    • Experience with open-source software such as Python/R is an advantage

    Where will you be working?

    You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
