    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Finance Analyst Intern is a key pipeline role for Santander to attract, develop, and retain future Finance Leaders. Strong candidates that successfully complete their internship will be considered to join the Finance Leadership Rotational Program (“FLRP”) Analyst upon college graduation. The internship will be in one of the following Finance groups: Strategy, Business Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury, Capital Management, and Accounting. During the summer, the intern will be an active member of a specific finance organization involved in both ad-hoc projects as well as monthly deliverables. This role will have a high level of visibility and exposure to both Finance and Business Executive Management.

    Duties:

    • Perform financial analysis, modeling, pro forma spreadsheet projections, cost benefit analysis, and other analysis as requested to be able to forecast balance sheet trends to evaluate various investment and funding programs
    • Work with other Treasury members on power-point presentations for Asset liability committee (ALCO), and other executive leadership meetings. Provide ad hoc reports and analysis on liabilities and deposit pricing.
    • Work collectively with the investment team on analysis of profitability of liquid assets
    • Conduct peer analysis with respect to investment portfolio characteristics and balance sheet trends
    • Analyze and report on Bank’s hedging strategies. This will include bond hedging and macro balance sheet hedging. Analyze and report on hedges for Mortgage Servicing Rights (MSR)
    • Analyze and forecast evolving regulatory liquidity requirements to understand and implement for the Bank
    • Monitor the current income vs annual budget and strategic plan
    • Analyze external environment and competitor actions and develop recommendations for Santander's investment management
    • Work cross-functionally and with the business to ensure organizational alignment of key recommendations

    APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS

    • Must have an expected graduation date between December 2018 – June 2019.
    • Must have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above.
    • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week, for the duration of the program.
    • U.S. Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Majoring in Finance, Accounting, or related field
    • Demonstrated leadership within the college community
    • strong Microsoft Office experience is required, particularly advanced skills with Microsoft Excel
    • Strong preference for working with large data sets in a logical fashion
    • Must have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
    • The ability to problem solve and manage multiple projects is required
    • Must demonstrate the ability to take ownership of assignments and drive to completion on a timely basis
