VIRTUAL DESKTOP ENGINEER

As a Barclays Virtual Desktop Engineer, you will work within the Barclays Collaboration Services team which provides service delivery of a 24x7 third-level engineering support across ConnectApps and VDI solutions within the firm. In this role you will manage multiple Citrix and VDI farms including monitoring, housekeeping, changing, app releasing and many other Business as Usual tasks.

WHAT WILL YOU BE  DOING?

• Managing Citrix and VDI systems including monitoring, capacity management and planning, business continuity management, housekeeping

• Implementing releases and undertaking installation and maintenance of applications to Citrix / VDI platform

• Actively providing 3rd line support for incidents and problems, responding to user queries and data requests efficiently

• Analyzing incidents, identifying root causes, and providing solutions for system issues

• Analyzing existing workloads and implementing automations where possible

• Mentoring and assisting other line technicians with support issues where required

• Providing technical support and advice to users

• Composing required service / support documentation

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• Five+ years’ experience working with Citrix products especially Xenapp and Xendesktop

• Three+ years’ experience working with Ivanti products

• Proven knowledge of technologies like: Windows, Active Directory, Storage, VMWare, Appsense, Powershell, etc

SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU IN THE ROLE:

• College degree or equivalent experience

• Excellent communication skills
