Algorithm Development NGS Data Intern(Masters/PhD)
As a summer intern, you will be a part of a fast paced R&D team developing cutting edge DNA sequencing methods. You will develop fast and scalable signal processing algorithms for the Ion Torrent sequencer. You will be modeling complex biochemical processes and implementing them on massively parallel computers and NVIDIA GPU’s. You will have a unique opportunity to influence the latest genomic research using Next-Generation Sequencing.
Successful candidate will have experience in several of the following areas: signal processing, machine learning, applied mathematics and statistics.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in one of the following fields: Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering or Bioinformatics.
Proficiency in C++ and either R or Python are required. Experience using Linux/Unix OS.
Good communication skills (written & verbal)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with Next-Generation DNA sequencing technologies. Knowledge of statistics and biology is a plus.
