American Esoteric Laboratories Inc, (AEL), is currently seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as Phlebotomy Team Leader. Responsibilities: 1. Trains, schedules and assigns tasks using established policies, procedures and methods to facilitate activities of the section. 2. Monitors, counsels and recommends discipline of employees in the section using established policies and procedures to assist managment in reaching productivity goals. 3. Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed. 4. Performs phlebotomy and skin punctures on patients according to phlebotomy protocol to obtain suitable specimens for accurate clinical results for patient diagnosis. Collects specimens through proper handling protocol to ensure viability of patient specimens, as well as accurate clinical results. Performs clerical duties to receive, identify, accession and process specimens using established protocols to facilitate timely and accurate test performance. Knowledge/Education: High School diploma or equivalent. Experience: Two years laboratory or related experience. Environmental Conditions: Work involves frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions or undesirable elements, may involve exposure to a variety of elements which are potentially hazardous or harmful which require exercise of well defined precautions for protection from injury or illness. Requirements: ASCP Certification preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in MS Office. Ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
