    We are looking for a Animal Care Technician (Rodent Facility) to join our Insourcing Solutions team located in Thousand Oaks, CA.

    What you will do!

    Under close supervision, you will provide cage wash, general husbandry and/or investigative support for on-site research team. You will learn rodent handling, provide basic husbandry such as routine facility sanitation procedures, daily cage changes, provide proper enrichment for cages daily, room temperature checks, and maintain a clean, clutter-free facility. Assist in the receiving process; monitor the inventory and provide order requests for animal food, bedding and enrichment. Operate husbandry-related equipment (e.g. cage washers, autoclaves, laminar air flow cabinets, etc.), prepare and stock supplies and keep assigned areas well maintained. You may also provide logistical support, standard supplies and caging/ equipment for investigators.

  • Qualifications

    The ideal candidate would be a great team player; have good observational skills and prior experience in animal care, manufacturing or production line work. Possess a High School Diploma/GED and have a steady work history. If you have a strong work ethic and have the drive to work hard we can train you for this husbandry role. Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork; oral and written communication skills; attention to detail and organization. Must demonstrate accountability and ethics in performance of daily responsibilities. Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions and be able to maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with clients, customers, coworkers, and supervisors. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Ability to regularly lift/move 50 lbs and occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs.

    Basic computer skills needed. Proficient with Outlook and database record keeping helpful.
