    Job Description

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Sales Executive is tasked with identifying and selling Avenu’s products and services into new prospects through effective prospecting activities. This key role in the sales organization will identify business opportunities and sell our products by establishing contact, developing relationships with prospects, and influencing the buying process by recommending solutions that solve customers’ complex problems.

    In this role, you will interact with the Business Unit leader to identify areas of new sales and work within the sales team to cross sell additional products and services in an account.

     

    This position reports to the SVP, Sales, but is a remote position and requires a dedicated self-starter who can operate and thrive without day to day management or supervision.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Sell Avenu Insights and Analytics Software and Services to new customers
    • Satisfy yearly quota and/or Management Business Objectives (MBO) as assigned
    • Enter, and keep up to date, all customer records in SalesForce CRM system
    • Maintain relationships with customers and build new customer relationships through effective sales prospecting
    • Represent Avenu at meetings, conferences, etc as needed for the successful identification of new business opportunities
    • 40-50% Regional travel required

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    College degree (preferred), MBA a plus

    5+ years of successful outsides sales experience working with State and Local Government or other public sector customers

    Working within the Finance and Accounting departments of prospects and customers a plus

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as the employee works in an office setting, at an individual work station, using telephone and computer. There is also extensive travel within a specific region required for this position.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for most of the day
    • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer/copy machine
    • This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office
    • The person in this position frequently communicates via telephone
