Primary Function Battelle's Columbus-based Human Resources team provides consultative support to management and employees on strategic and routine human resources issues nationwide. Due to the wide range of assigned tasks, all members of this group have extensive exposure to and interaction with Battelle leadership and employees at all levels of the organization - and must therefore be equipped with appropriate collaboration and communications skills to adapt accordingly. The talent acquisition intern would be a key contributor to Battelle's recruiting team. We are currently seeking a Talent Intern to work part time Spring 2019 and full time Summer 2019 . This position is located in Columbus, Ohio . Major Responsibilities Maintain TA/TM information in HR databases and systems (ATS, LMS, HCMS) Takes calls and emails requesting assistance and answers questions on various HR topics. Interprets, assists and advises employees and managers on routine talent acquisition/management process and policies Creates and updates spreadsheets and PowerPoint decks in support of assigned projects Maintains a high level of integrity and discretion in the handling of confidential information Partners with the Battelle Intern and Co-Op program lead in support of the coordination and administration of the program, and participates in career events as a Battelle representative Works with the requisition process: posts open positions to appropriate job boards, sources resumes and qualified candidates, conducts pre-screening phone interviews and facilitates candidate feedback process, conducts on-site interviews with hiring manager, assists with selection process, and processes offer to the selected candidate Provides support for the implementation and communication of various HR programs and initiatives Brainstorms ideas and participates in activities to strengthen the HR team. Researches and summarize best practices Prepares and processes new hire paperwork Position Requirements Currently enrolled in a Bachelors or Master's degree program in Human Resources (or related field) and must have obtained junior status with at least a 3.0 accumulative GPA Works as part of a team to provide support on talent-related topics to the organization. Demonstrated internet search savviness to find candidate profiles, white pages, contact information, etc. Outstanding service orientation; sense of urgency; high-level of personal integrity Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment Strong analytical skills Strong written and oral communication skills with the ability to be detail oriented Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Ability to work independently, but also a strong effective team player Commitment to delivering results; solutions oriented; good organizational skills and ability to multi-task Good judgment and decision-making skills THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION: Exposure to SuccessFactors or similar applicant tracking system (ATS) and with PeopleSoft or similar systems Proficiency with diversity initiatives (AA or EOE) and employment law Legal Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
