Primary Function We are currently seeking a Software Engineering Co-op/ Intern for Spring - Summer 2019 (January 2019 August 2019) . This position is located in Columbus, Ohio. Major Responsibilities The Software Engineering Intern will support Battelle's Misson Solutions business. This group specializes in the design, development, test, and production of complex electronics and software systems. Participate in the full lifecycle development of products, including custom software using various software languages including C, C++, C# and Java Work independently and as a member of a multi-functional, dynamic team Provide engineering support to technical staff and managers as required on client projects Position Requirements Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) or Electrical Engineering (EE) with at least 18 months of undergraduate coursework completed GPA of 3.0 or above Programming experience with C, C++, C# or Java Develop software using tools in Windows and Linux operating environments Proficiency with Microsoft Office application software Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team Positive attitude and eagerness to take on technical challenges Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Must have sole U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain required government security clearances as a condition of employment THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION: Experience with scripting languages (JavaScript, Python, PHP, etc.) Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms (AES, RSA, etc.) Development experience with RTS and Android on multiple platforms Experience developing code for microcontrollers or sensor control networks Applicants available for more than one work term will be given preference Legal Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the nature and level of work being performed by people assigned to this job.
