    Lighthouse Lab Services is representing a long-standing pathology billing company that has been serving the Atlanta healthcare community since 1981. This organization specializes in billing for pathology, gastroenterology, and urology services, processing over 8,000 reports per month. With a small, highly experienced team, they pride themselves on accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all aspects of the revenue cycle.

    The company offers competitive compensation and full benefits (medical, dental, vision), along with a flexible work schedule (mix of in-office and remote, 8:00 AM–3:30/4:00 PM).

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise and support a team of 3 experienced billing staff

    • Oversee accurate assignment of CPT and ICD-10 codes for pathology and related specialties

    • Train staff on insurance remittances, receivables management, and payer guidelines

    • Research, analyze, and resolve unpaid or denied medical claims across multiple payer platforms

    • Monitor and manage accounts receivable, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution

    • Communicate with payers to clarify and correct claim issues

    • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, Medicare/Medicaid, and commercial payer requirements

    • Stay up to date on billing regulations, coding updates, and payer policies

    • Assist with billing reports and workflow improvements

    Qualifications

    • 5–10 years of experience in medical billing, with at least 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role

    • Strong knowledge of pathology coding and billing processes preferred

    • Proficiency in claims processing, insurance reimbursement, and accounts receivable management

    • Skilled in using billing/practice management software, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat

    • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to make independent decisions

    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field (preferred; equivalent experience considered)
