    HUMAN RESOURCE BUSINESS PARTNER

    Cambridge, MA

    Requisition Number: HR21-001

At Blueprint Medicines, as our name indicates, we are creating a blueprint for the future of healthcare.  We are a leading company in the personalized medicine revolution by focusing on delivering new medicines that are targeted to the genetic driver of disease.  We do this by leveraging our one-of-a-kind drug discovery platform to discover, develop and work to bring highly-selective kinase inhibitors to patients globally.  This prolific scientific platform has enabled Blueprint Medicines to build a pipeline of novel therapies that span three distinct areas of medicine; genomically defined cancers, rare diseases and cancer immunotherapy.

    JOB SUMMARY:

Our vision is simple yet bold— to deliver a new generation of highly selective therapies that dramatically improve patients’ lives.  To do this, we are fueled by curiosity and ignited by hope.

Our company has attracted some of the most brilliant and accomplished talent in the industry and is now looking for an entrepreneurial, strategic, and well-rounded HR Business Partner who excels when opportunity knocks.

This exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner provides an opening to help shape people strategies which drive systematic value creation and pave the way for each employee to grow and thrive.  This individual will bring their unique perspective coupled with intelligence, an appreciation for the business, and a natural passion for rapid, yet informed change to maximize our collective success.

In this newly developed position, the individual will be a key partner to several functions at Blueprint Medicines and will be integral to building a cohesive, fully integrated global organization in support of the business strategy and operational growth plans.  Additionally, the successful candidate will partner day-to-day with HR colleagues, managers and employees to attract, retain and engage the “Blue Crew”.  At Blueprint, HR Business Partner and Learning & Development work is integrated, providing this role with the opportunity to drive learning initiatives across the business as well. This role is in a unique position to be on the ground floor of broader HR strategic initiatives as we embark on the next chapter of the Blueprint Medicines’ story.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Participate as a key member of the Human Resources Team to inform the global HR strategy, shape our culture, engage our employees and drive organizational results.
    • Advise business leaders and various functional teams on strategic and operational execution, including team effectiveness, change management, organizational design, performance management, retention, engagement, talent planning, professional growth and more.
    • Ensure organizational readiness through an active focus on change management, partnering closely with business leaders to develop pragmatic strategies and tactics that help leaders proactively lead change. Inform communication strategies for functional area support.
    • Utilize high level consulting and coaching skills to influence, coach and provide feedback to employees at all levels, ensuring our core values are lived every day and empower individual growth.
    • Integrate with the business, building trust and credibility as a valuable thought partner on organizational and talent issues. Recommend and design organizational changes to optimize the organization and talent.
    • Mediate and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary.
    • Influence the evolution and utilization of data and analytics to inform business decisions, initiate action and liberate thinking.
    • Embody and inspire collaboration which drives the sharing of practices and pushes the boundaries in areas of the employee value proposition we choose to differentiate.
    • Drive consistency in developing and administering policies and programs to ensure an inclusive mindset where all employees receive appropriate and equitable treatment.  Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to the day to day management of employees; ensure compliance with all applicable employment policies, regulations and laws.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.  Certified coaching certificate a plus.
    • Minimum of 8 years’ progressive human resources experience as an HR Business Partner. Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceutical or medical device or technology industry preferred.
    • Ability to be strategic and hands-on in a rapid growth, fast-paced global organization where agility was demanded, fresh solutions were embraced, and a growth mindset was pervasive.
    • Strong business acumen coupled with emotional intelligence

    CAPABILITIES:

    • Provides the fuel and action to make things happen proactively and responsibly at all levels of the company.
    • Thrives in ambiguity and embodies flexibility while continuously interpreting the potential impact of business ebbs/flows as well as the realities of today’s external business landscape. Leverages insights to identify possibilities and create opportunities.
    • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action with confidence.
    • Makes decisions with a sense of urgency, prioritizing possibilities and opportunities as well as their inherent risks and benefits, even when there is complexity. Balances the amount of information seeking with acting quickly enough to capitalize on the opportunity or mitigate any issues.
    • Humble, and believes their talents can be developed (through hard work, deliberate development strategies, and input from others); a growth mindset.
    • Authentic, active communicator with the proven ability to build relationships and establish rapport, creating a culture of trust and engagement by all employees.  Demonstrated creativity and consistent accuracy in written communication.
    • Strong customer focus and solution orientation due to an overall positive outlook, acting on the belief that solutions and plans are stronger when appropriate collaboration occurs across and beyond the organization.
